1. Equipment

Don Augusto provides polo ponies for a range of skill levels. Players are encouraged to bring their own helmets, boots, mallets, knee guards, and if they chose, whips, gloves and goggles. Don Augusto can also arrange for visits to any of the many excellent tack shops in the area and some equipment including mallets are available for general use.

2. Accommodation

Guests at Don Augusto stay in a charming Argentine style country house, or cottage. Guests share a common living area with kitchen, dining area and sofa and chairs. Room types include king, queen, single and twin beds with shared baths and some of the rooms have airconditioning. The "quincho" overlooking the stick and ball field and barns is a popular place for relaxation.

3. Meals

The standard polo clinic includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Beverages are included (wine, beer, soft drinks and water). All meals are typical Argentine cuisine prepared fresh daily in our kitchen and shared family style. Please notify Don Augusto if you have dietary restrictions so that we may accommodate you comfortably during your stay.

4. In case of rain

If it has rained so much that we can not play any chukkers or stick & ball, we only charge USD 150 for the accommodation and food. As an alternative the player has the option to take a polo lesson with a professional instructor on the wooden horse at a cost of USD 50. Other activities can be arranged at reasonable prices, like going to BA for the day, go shopping, boating in Tigre, watch a Tango show etc…

5. Security

Argentina is a diverse country with many different populations living in close proximity. We take extra precaution to ensure that our guests have as trouble free a visit as possible. There is a 24 hour security patrol in the Pilar polo district monitoring activity at all the polo clubs. In addition, Don Augusto has a private guard at night.

6. Health Insurance

Players must have their own health insurance and will sign a waiver on arrival exempting Don Augusto and its personnel/owner from any claims. Be mindful that should an incident occur, foreigners are required to pay in cash at the hospital, and then retroactively file a claim with their insurance company.

7. Payments

Reservations are made with a 20% deposit payable by credit card through Paypal. The rest is due in cash on arrival. If you want to pay the rest with credit card/paypal, we have to add 5% for commissions AND this can only be done if you have a VERIFIED paypal account. For your trip, be mindful that Argentina is a cash based society. The banking system is unreliable, commision charges are high and it can be difficult to cash more than USD 100 per day through ATM´s.
